Semi-Custom

$1,500.00

The semi-custom models were created with our students in mind. Simple, functional, and designed to take your surfing to that next level.

I have streamlined the ordering process by making all boards identically outfitted with fin set-ups, colorwork, and logo placement. Our goal with the semi-custom is to not overwhelm the customer with all the decisions that come with a full blown custom board. We are using the best blanks, resin, cloth, fin boxes, and fins available, yet a lot of the magic of these boards are that they are shaped, glassed, and sanded in our small community in La Misión.

Boards offered in 6-inch increments, from 6’0-9’0. The semi-custom aspect comes into play if you are ordering one of these boards that are not stock inventory on the website. You will have the opportunity to communicate with Coach Evan and Coach Chris to slightly tweak the center width, and thickness of the board. Aesthetically you will be able to choose from basswood or dark wood stringers and two slightly different Gallo Logos.

Take the next step in your surfing journey by owning a surf craft that you can be proud of and feel great about supporting the sacred craft of board building!

This model pictured is based directly off Brother Mariano’s custom 6’11 Nopal Twin. He raves about how everyone needs one of these so it was an easy assignment to put together a board in this size range that can pretty much do it all. It paddles extremely well with its wide-point pushed forward of center, fuller nose, and just the right amount of tail width offers a very balanced overall board that suits so many different wave types. It has a slightly rolled deck to keep as much foam as possible under your chest and hips. The rail thickness flowing from nose-to center and throughout the tail offers confidence while holding onto the boards punching through waves and setting the rail on drops and turns. The subtle bottom contours were designed to speed up water flow through the more upright twin fin area and make it even easier to put on rail. The new competition weight foam (U.S. Blanks lightest and most dense offered) paired with two layers of 4-ounce weight cloth top and bottom offer great strength against deck pressure dings and breaking. The sanded gloss finish seals the deal bringing to life a board that has serious lasting power! – Coach Evan
