Progression in your surfing happens in your mind before your body. As a beginner it’s easy to get so enveloped by the thrill of riding a wave that you neglect to consider what should happen when the ride is over. We’re here to remind you that all good things must come to an end, so prepare to dismount so you can complete your ride properly.
There’s all kinds of scenarios that can unfold as you’re catching a wave. In some cases, things can take a turn for the worse and it becomes wise not to commit to the wave. The better your ability to stop on a dime, the more comfortable you’ll feel about approaching the ledge without fear of getting pitched.
It’s inevitable, you’re going to wipeout. However, having a heightened awareness for the potential of a wipeout impending ultimately leads to wiping out less.
